Microfabrication of Anode Functional Layer in SOFC by 3D Printer

This work aims to increase the interface between anode and electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells by controlling 3D microstructure with a commercial ink-jet printer. Anode inks suitable for use printer were prepared altering viscosity droplet size. A porous structure that ensures flow path gases was achieved addition of acrylic particles into ink. dense prevents leakage created. The layers produced as long, flat strips which aligned parallel form sheets; these sheets stacked orthogonally complete called ‘anode functional layer’. layer roughly 100 micrometers on side thickness 4 micrometers. inserted electrolyte. assembled cell showed high performance when tested at 600 °C dry methane source.
